🎯  Problem it solves

Many experience, workshop, and service businesses work with advances as part of their operating model. Until today, if you wanted to collect an advance, you had to leave MaunaOne: use another tool, track it in a spreadsheet, or trust that the customer would pay the rest later without a reminder.

This split flow creates friction, tracking errors, and — most importantly — confirmed orders without a real guarantee of collection. With Partial Payments, you can capture the customer's financial commitment from the very beginning, and keep all the records in one place.


🆕  What’s new

🧩 'Partial Payment' field in the price configuration of each product (creation and editing).

🧩 Type selection: percentage of the total or fixed amount in the product's currency.

🧩 The Stripe checkout only charges the advance — the total price is shown for informational reference.

🧩 The order is marked as 'Advance paid' with the remaining balance calculated and visible in the order details.

🧩 Compatible with all types of products: bookable, date-free, and physical.

🧩 Available both in the product link (public checkout) and at the Point of Sale.

 


👣  How to use it (3 steps)

1.  Go to: Products → Edit product → Price section → turn on the 'Partial Payment' toggle.

2.  Choose the type of advance: Percentage (e.g. 30% of the total) or Fixed amount (e.g. $500 MXN). Save the product.

3.  Share the link — your customer will see the advance amount when booking, and you will see the outstanding balance recorded in each order from your dashboard.

 


⚠️  Important changes

  • New order status: 'Advance paid'

Orders with complete partial payment are listed with this differentiated status in the orders list. They are not marked as 'Fully Paid' until the balance is collected.

  • The collection of the remaining balance is manual (for now)

You can collect the balance from the Point of Sale by selecting the existing order, or by sending a payment link manually. Coming soon: sending a second charge directly from the order.

  • Works with all payment methods

Card via Stripe for public checkout. At the Point of Sale in cash, the advance is recorded as offline payment, and the balance remains pending.

  • Products without active Partial Payment are not affected

The change is opt-in by product. No existing product charges differently unless you activate this option.
