🧾MaunaOne Update — Partial Payments, Advanced Discounts, and More (24/03/2025)
✅ Summary
This is the most important update to MaunaOne to date. We are launching Partial Payments — the ability to collect deposits or installment payments on any product — along with significant improvements to the discount system, new visual indicators in the public calendar, and performance optimizations that reduce database queries by up to 97% in order listings.
🆕 What's New
Partial Payments — accept deposits or two-step charges on all your products.
Set a deposit as a percentage or fixed amount of the total.
The customer pays the deposit when booking; the remaining balance is charged later.
Compatible with all product types: bookable, no-dates, and subscription.
Configurable per product from the Price section in the product editor.
Quantity Discounts — new discount type that applies based on the number of bookings in the cart.
Set the discount amount per booking (example: -$100 for each booking).
The discount is automatically accumulated based on the number of bookings in the cart.
New discount condition: Event Date — apply discounts according to the date of the event being booked.
Combine this condition with others to create strategies such as: 'discount if the event is during peak season'.
New colors in the public link calendar
🟢 Green — dates with availability.
🟡 Yellow — last spots (almost full).
⚫ Gray — no availability / sold out.
This reduces friction for your customers: they can see at a glance which dates are open.
Signup and Login page redesign — a clearer and faster new visual experience for new sellers.
⚙️ Improvements
Performance — slot filtering by date in availability queries
Availability queries now filter directly in the DB instead of in memory, significantly reducing latency for products with many dates.
Dedicated endpoint for landing page (next N slots)
Public product links now consume a specialized endpoint that returns only the next available slots, eliminating unnecessary historical data load.
Removal of N+1 in order listing — bulk discount breakdown
The discount calculation in the order listing is now done in batch: from 100+ individual queries to 2-3 queries per load.
⚠️ Important change
Partial Payments — change in the charging flow
When a product has Partial Payment enabled, the customer pays only the deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be collected manually or through a second payment link.
Orders with pending partial payment will appear with a different status in your dashboard. Check the status of your orders if you have scheduled charges.
This is version 5.0.0 — change in the charging model
The version jump reflects that Partial Payments introduces a new two-step charging model. All existing features remain intact.
